The Mountain Innovation Program aims to improve the lives of mountain communities and protecting mountain environments around the world. The current opportunity calls for projects that focus on techniques to leverage resources and increase the resilience of mountain communities through the enhancement of agriculture-food value in Guatemala, Rwanda, Papua New Guinea, Lesotho, and Nepal. Only entities working with local civil society organizations and/or community-based organizations in priority countries are eligible to apply. Mekong Institute – Mekong Cooperation Fund
The Mekong-ROK Cooperation Fund seeks applications for the implementation of cooperation activities in Mekong countries (Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Laos). The Fund provides grants of up to US$300 thousand for regional projects. Eligible project areas include agriculture and rural development, and environment, among others. Applications are invited from government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and academic institutions. Development banks and individuals are not eligible. United Nations Capital Development Fund — Renewable Energy Fund Burkina Faso
The UNCDF “Fond des Energies Renouvelables pour la Résilience du Burkina Faso” (FERR-BF) supports projects that accelerate the growth of income-generating activities by adopting renewable energy solutions. The British Embassy Chisinau seeks applications from organizations working on climate change and environmental issues in Moldova. U.S. Mission to Indonesia — Combating Environmental Crime
The U.S. Mission to Indonesia provides financial assistance to build the capacity of law enforcement, government institutions, and local civil society organizations to prevent and report on environmental crimes in Indonesia. Capacity-building activities could include but are not limited to financial analysis ; conducting workshops, hosting conferences, or facilitating study tours. Individual awards are not to exceed US$225 thousand. Eligibility extends to U.S. based and overseas-based non-profit organizations (NGOs) or educational institutions. Active Citizens Fund — Funding for Croatian CSOs
The Active Citizens Fund calls for proposals from Croatian CSOs active in the area of environment and climate change. Additional priority areas include human rights and social justice. The maximum contribution per project is between €90 thousand and €150 thousand (10% of co-financing is required). Projects may have a duration of 24-36 months. The call targets civil society organizations with sufficiently effective management and governing processes capable of developing complex project interventions. The European Commission seeks to support civil society organizations as actors of governance in order to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The EC will provide financial assistance to inequality initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. Each region has specifically defined program priorities, including income and wealth inequality, land rights, access to natural resources such as water for agriculture.
