Climate Tracker — Climate and Health Photo Contest 2019

The Climate Tracker, in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), launches the Climate and Health Photo Contest 2019. The aim of the photography competition is to highlight the impacts of climate change on human health. Eight winners will be selected to produce a photostory (30 – 35 photographs) and will receive a US$200 cash prize. Following the eight photostories, one winner will be awarded with a fully-funded fellowship to attend the COP25 in Chile (November 2019). The deadline to submit applications is 13 April 2019. Stockholm International Water Institute — Stockholm Junior Water Prize 2020

Each year, the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) co-operates with a national organisation that arranges a national Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) competition. SJWP is open for projects striving to improve water quality, water resources management, water protection, water and wastewater treatment. The competition is open to young people between the ages of 15 and 20. The winner receives US$15 thousand, a crystal sculpture, a diploma as well as the stay in Stockholm during the World Water Week. UNIDO ITPO Italy — Innovative Ideas and Technologies in Agribusiness

UNIDO ITPO Italy invites applications for the international contest “Innovative Ideas and Technologies in Agribusiness”. Innovative ideas and technologies relative to the entire agribusiness value chain – developed by startups, businesses, research centers and academia – that could be successfully applied in Developing Countries (DCs) are eligible. Applications from enterprises, startups, universities, research centres, NGOs, researchers, and smallholders farmers are welcome. Winners in 7 categories will be invited to the Award Ceremony at EXCO 2019 (May 2019), receive mentorship, and have access to possible business partnerships. Drucker Institute — Drucker Prize 2019

The Drucker Institute invites nominations for the Drucker Prize 2019. The prize recognizes innovative non-profit organizations that inspire “change that creates a new dimension of performance”. The winning organization will receive a US$100 thousand prize. Past winners include projects in the field of sustainable energy, small-scale agriculture, rainforest conservation, and many others. Society for International Development — Andrew E. Rice Award 2019

The Andrew E. Rice Award for Leadership and Innovation recognizes the achievements of an exceptional young professional working in the field of international development. Past winners include field research on agriculture strategies and the creation of low-cost digital games that inspire social change. Candidates must be between 22 to 32 years old and have at least two years of experience in international development in developing countries. The winner will receive US$1,000. UN Convention to Combat Desertification — Land for Life Award 2019

The Land for Life Award recognizes efforts towards achieving land degradation neutrality. Individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations, academic and research organizations are eligible to apply. (Note: The award is not endowed.) Nominations have to be submitted by 30 March 2019. Link

International Union for Conservation of Nature — Red List of Ecosystems Photo Contest

IUCN announces the IUCN Red List of Ecosystems Photo Contest – My Place in Nature. The contest is open to all photographers and aspiring photographers worldwide. Participants are invited to share their story on ecosystems and show their very own place in nature. Winners will be announced on IUCN Red List of Ecosystems social media and exhibited at the IUCN World Conservation Congress. Grassroots Justice Prize — Legal Empowerment for Communities

The Grassroots Justice Prize recognizes grassroots institutions across the globe that are working to put the power of law into people’s hands. Three awards, each of US$10 thousand, are available to non-profit organizations, social enterprises, and public institutions that focus on legal empowerment to tackle poverty, injustice, or other social problems. Fondation SUEZ — Student Prize for Water and Health

The 11th international “Water & Health” seminar will take place from 24 to 26 June 2019 in Cannes (France). Students are invited to apply for the SUEZ “Water & Health” prize. The student with the best research and contribution to improving water safety will receive €1,500. Applications are open until 26 April 2019. Link

ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Youth — ASEAN Youth Video Contest

The ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Youth (SOMY) announces the 5th ASEAN Youth Video Contest (AYVC) focused on the theme “Renewable Energy:  Powering ASEAN’s Bright Future”. Young ASEAN filmmakers are invited to submit a 60-second video on the theme “Renewable Energy” showcasing what renewable energy sources mean to the future of youth and the region. The competition is open to amateur filmmakers (18 to 30 years old) from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. 10 selected finalists will participate in a video production workshop in Hanoi, Vietnam (April 2019).
