The “Solve” program at MIT announces six global challenges in 2025, inviting anyone in the world to propose solutions to them. The 2025 challenges include one on climate adaptation. MIT Resilient Ecosystems Challenge seeks technology-based solutions that help communities restore, sustain, and benefit from resilient ecosystems. The winner receives a US$10 thousand grant. Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship — Training for Social Entrepreneurs
The Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship accepts applications for an accelerator program focused on social enterprises working on women’s economic power and/or climate resilience. The program is designed for established social entrepreneurs who directly serve people living in poverty who suffer disproportionately from climate change. Climate resilience falls into one of the following three categories: sustainable energy, availability of sustainable management of water and sanitation, and climate-smart agriculture. Non-profit, for-profit, or hybrid social enterprises that have a clear commitment to an earned revenue model with the potential for scale are all encouraged to apply. European Union — COAL Prize 2025
The COAL Prize 2025 invites artists to submit projects dedicated to fresh water. The Prize is open to artists from all over the world. The winner receives €12 thousand to support artwork in progress and benefits from an (optional) residence run by the Museum of Hunting and Nature at the Belval Domaine. The Food Tech Innovation Awards 2025 recognize the most innovative proposals that offer a disruptive approach to Customer Experience or Management. The award has 6 categories: digitalization award for the food and beverage industry; best sustainability project; healthy food; the best innovation project for the packaging industry; the most innovative food tech startup; and the best automation and robotics solution. The FoodTech Innovation Awards are open to all companies, universities, business schools, researchers, journalists, and start-ups from all over the world. Elephant Managers Association — Small Grants Program
The Elephant Managers Association (EMA) accepts proposals focused on field-based conservation projects in Africa and Asia. Projects should have a significant impact on resolving current or urgent elephant-related issues. Higher priority will be given to proposals that provide education and community outreach, provide capacity-building in local communities, and improve captive elephant management and welfare. Tusk Trust — Awards for African Conservation 2025
The Tusk Conservation Awards highlight the achievements of individuals working for conservation in Sub-Saharan Africa. The Prince William Award for Conservation in Africa (£100 thousand) is awarded to a distinguished individual for exceptional lifetime achievement in African conservation. The Tusk Award for Conservation in Africa (£75 thousand) is awarded to an individual who has demonstrated a considerable commitment to conservation, and who has already made a significant impact. The Tusk Wildlife Ranger Award (£30 thousand) recognizes the dedication and commitment of an individual who works in the field on a daily basis protecting Africa’s wildlife. Gadfly Project — Software for Environmental Protection and Climate Change Mitigation
The Gadfly Project makes in-kind grants for organizations seeking to implement a software initiative in the fields of environmental protection and climate change mitigation. The grant is available to organizations both international and domestic with a focus on environmental protection and sustainability. Software development efforts with a magnitude between US$5 thousand and US$100 thousand are preferred. Please note that this is an “in-kind” grant (not a cash grant). Grants are evaluated quarterly. O’Shaughnessy Ventures — Research, Innovation, and Creativity Grants
The O’Shaughnessy Fellowships offer US$100 thousand equity-free grants to individuals worldwide pursuing research, creative projects, or innovation. Fellows receive mentorship and support from OSV’s network of experts, founders, and investors. Applicants must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and strong proof of work.
