University of St. Andrews — St. Andrews Prize for the Environment 2024

The annual St Andrews Prize for the Environment recognizes significant contributions to environmental conservation in the developing world. The subject areas include human-animal conflicts; water and biodiversity; sanitation; air quality; solar power; food supply; waste and recycling; environmental justice; and others. Applications are invited from individuals, multi-disciplinary teams, and community groups. Research projects will not be considered. The Prize consists of an award of US$100 thousand and a medal. SEED — Starter Program for Eco-Enterprises

SEED offers valuable resources and professional support to expand entrepreneurial ideas while learning from peers during interactive SEED Starter workshops. SEED Starter workshops consist of a team of 2-5 members that bring in a business idea for addressing environmental, social, and economic challenges. Successful alumni are invited to apply for a SEED Grant for up to €1,000 which pays for resources required to establish the new enterprise. Global Water Partnership-Caribbean — Seed Funding for Young Caribbean Water Entrepreneurs

The Global Water Partnership-Caribbean invites young Caribbean entrepreneurs (18-34 years) to submit innovative water-related project ideas to the Young Caribbean Water Entrepreneurs Shark Tank Competition. Project ideas should focus on water resources management in the Caribbean region and focus on one of five thematic areas: (1) Water and Climate; (2) Water and Agriculture; (3) Water and Health; (4) Water and Energy; (5) Water and Tourism. Participants will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas for a chance to secure seed funding of US$4 thousand. The deadline for submission of project ideas is 04 August 2024. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Jordan

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Jordan. The priorities under this call include one on environment and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as on water management. The average contribution is expected to be in the range of C$55 thousand to C$75 thousand per project. Larger projects may be considered on an exceptional basis. Chatham House — Microgrants

The Chatham House Sustainability Accelerator provides microgrants to crowdsource and catalyze innovative ideas to reach a sustainable future. Grants of £1,000 are available to transform ideas for sustainability solutions to solve sustainability challenges. Chatham House welcomes applications from all backgrounds and geographies. Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research — SFIAR Award 2024

SFIAR annually awards a prize to scientists working at or in association with a Swiss institution in agricultural research for development. For 2024, the best team project will be awarded CHF10 thousand, and the best masters thesis CHF1 thousand. German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development — Digital Innovation for Smallholder Farmers in Latin America

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development seeks solutions that use agricultural technologies and digital tools (agritech) to enhance the profitability of smallholder farmers in Latin America, improving their resilience to climate change. Selected entities will receive grants of up to US$ 85 thousand to fund technical assistance projects tailored to the conditions, needs, and potential of smallholder farmers. Inter-American Development Bank — Bioeconomy Entrepreneurship in the Amazon Basin

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) seeks to support innovative bio-businesses in the Amazon Basin capable of supporting the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and increasing the resilience of targeted value chains and ecosystems in the Amazon region. Applicants can apply for technical assistance in the order of US$ 250 thousand to a maximum of US$ 500 thousand. Eligibility extends to startups, cooperatives, innovation agencies, producer associations, and knowledge institutions. Proposals will be received on a rolling basis until 15 May 2025. SEED — Replicator Workshop for Eco-Enterprises

The SEED Replicator program offers incubation workshops to identify opportunities for enterprise creation and to guide aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners looking for partnerships to build an eco-inclusive business model. Successful alumni can apply for a SEED Grant which pays for your immediate necessary activities, measures, or machinery required to establish the new enterprise. SEED Replicator Program currently invites applications from entrepreneurs in India. Participation is free, although participants need to cover their transportation costs and accommodation. Rockstart — AgriFood Program 2024

Rockstart funds and empowers purpose-driven founders scaling impactful solutions by leveraging emerging technologies and new business models that improve the food supply. Rockstart invests in early-stage startups with a focus on agri-tech and food-tech. It seeks solutions that restore soils and oceans to become powerhouses for CO2 capture, innovations that create value from wasted food and reduce food loss, and tools that provide consumers with better access to trustworthy, nutritious food.
