EIT Climate-KIC seeks partners for the delivery of the 2021 Journey Summer School program. Journey Summer School is a part residential, part online educational program for young climate leaders. Project proposals for online training activities can request up to €25 thousand in funding. Project proposals for residential training activities can request up to €38 thousand in funding. This call for proposals is open for applications to partner and non-partner organizations (universities, NGOs, governments, and businesses across Europe). The Southern Africa Climate Finance Partnership (SACFP) is a knowledge sharing and capacity enhancement platform for southern African countries seeking access to international climate finance in order to mobilize investments into climate resilient development. SACFP invites postgraduate students to apply for scholarships to undertake research-based degrees focused on climate finance. Applicants must present a MSc or PhD thesis topic related to climate finance. The 2-year PhD scholarship award will be calculated based on the eligible expenses of the field of study. The Foundation Future of the Carbon Market launches a call for proposals to fund the development of design documents for programmatic mitigation activities with the aim to prepare market based climate protection projects. The Foundation will provide funding for up to 5 selected proposals in different implementing countries. Eligible proponents are private and public entities with proven expertise in topics related to climate change mitigation, carbon markets, and the Sustainable Development Goals. Habitat for Humanity seeks innovative and cost-effective solutions to make homes at extreme risk in the event of natural disasters (e.g., earthquakes or typhoons) stronger and more resilient. This challenge is designed specifically for methods that offer solutions to low-income homeowners living in high-risk areas, for example, inexpensive ideas for adding foundations to low-income housing. Habitat for Humanity offers an award of US$25 thousand to make awarded solutions freely available to other non-profit organizations to help improve the state of low-income housing worldwide. Karayib Klima launches a call for proposals for concrete actions and advocacy campaigns in climate resilience for creole-speaking civil society organizations in the Caribbean. Proposed projects must suggest activities aiming to increase adaptation of people and territories to climate change, for example, through education, sustainable economic development, or the protection of ecosystems and biodiversity. Grants range from €5 thousand to €40 thousand per project. Applications can only be submitted by a coalition of civil society organizations (at least 2 organizations from 2 different countries). The Dutch Embassy in Dakar seeks to support human rights projects with focus on raising awareness about combating climate change in Senegal and Gambia. The maximum duration of a project is four years. There is no maximum amount for the Embassy’s financial contribution to be requested. The program is aimed at non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and non-profit associations officially recognized in the countries where the activities will be carried out. The Academy of Change is an initiative of the Collaborating Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP), Behavior Change and the International Civil Society Centre (ICSC), funded by the KR Foundation. The training program enables participants to learn more about sustainable behavior change while working and exchanging with peers from all over the world. A focus theme of this training program is climate change, environmental degradation and biodiversity. A group of 40 professionals working for NGOs across the world will be selected for in-person workshops and online activities, networking opportunities and coaching sessions. Climate Tracker invites applications for a journalism workshop in the field of climate change and renewable energy. Submission is open to journalists from Lebanon. Four participants will receive grants to produce an article on the issue of climate change. Journalists have to submit examples of previous journalistic work to apply. Thomson Reuters Foundation and the Asian Development Bank will conduct a five-day online training program on ‘Reporting on Climate Change.’ Please note that this capacity building program is only open to journalists from Nepal. Participants will learn how to identify, research and deliver accurate stories on climate change, its impact on the environment and the lives of ordinary people. Experienced trainers will help participants learn to write impactful stories. There will be opportunities for participants to join a regional workshop on Climate Change in 2021.
