The World Around calls for applications to the Young Climate Prize. World Around seeks young people who are working on their self-started projects that address, draw attention to, or mitigate climate change in their communities. The program will provide visibility, support, and mentorship for 25 of the world’s most talented and passionate climate designers. Anyone aged 13-25 from anywhere can submit their work. The Caribbean Climate Investment Program (CCIP) seeks applications to mobilize private sector financing for technologies that advance climate mitigation and adaptation goals across the Caribbean region. The primary focus is to catalyze financing for the development of RE and EE technology and deploy climate change adaptation interventions that increase the resiliency of clean energy investments in the region. Climate Tracker selects fellows for a 5 months training experience with a range of environmental, storytelling, and journalism experts. Participants will get the chance to put what they’ve learned into practice, by engaging in new media journalism, through podcasts, social media storytelling, and newsletters. Fellows receive a monthly stipend of US$200 to publish climate stories. Eligibility extends to Caribbean journalists interested in covering climate justice. The deadline to apply is 22 April 2024. F5 provides Tech for Good Impact Grants and in-kind donations to help nonprofits update the technological resources they need to address the effects climate change has upon people of color and/or marginalized racial or ethnic communities. The size of the Tech for Good grants is US$50 thousand. Grant funding is open to non-profits in all countries. Applicants must address issues related to environmental justice, such as (but not limited to) climate change mitigation/resilience, hazardous or toxic waste, biodiversity, or environmental education. The International Climate Initiative (IKI) holds an ideas competition prior to funding or commissioning projects through the IKI Country Call Brazil. Interested implementing organizations are invited to submit a project outline. The funding volume provided by the IKI is a minimum of €8 million to a maximum of €30 million per project. Eligible organizations include Non-governmental organizations, universities and research institutions, international institutions, and private sector companies. The Repsol Foundation supports entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs that provide technological solutions to meet the challenges of the Energy Transition. The Foundation invites startups that have passed the pre-commercial phase and reached the testing phase with real customers to apply to the Entrepreneurs Fund. The Fund provides financial aid of up to €120 thousand and mentorship from former Repsol employees for one year. Repsol invites startups from the European Economic Area, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom. The program supports industrial technology solutions in low-carbon energy technologies, biotechnology, renewable energies, and natural solutions for reducing the carbon footprint. Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) launches the Improving Outcomes for Women-led Clean Energy Enterprises through Applied Research. The initiative will fund actionable research that aims to build the evidence base on these barriers and potential solutions. ANDE aims to support collaborative research projects led by practitioners and researchers based in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Sub-Saharan Africa. The Young One World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 13 seeks to support scalable youth-led solutions that address climate change. The challenge welcomes solutions from young innovators (18-30 years old). The winner will receive a US$50 thousand project startup grant and 12 months of mentorship from Deloitte professionals. The Fulbright-Kalam Climate Fellowship aims to build long-term capacity in the USA and India by engaging both countries in research and education on climate change. The program offers research fellowships for PhD students in India who will affiliate with a U.S. institution for six to nine months. It also offers postdoctoral fellowships of eight to twelve months for Indian faculty and researchers who are in the early stages of their research careers in India. The fellowships provide air travel between India and the USA; a monthly stipend; accident and sickness insurance, a modest settling-in allowance; a professional allowance; and a dependent allowance (under certain circumstances). The Energy Globe Award recognizes outstanding projects worldwide that conserve and protect natural resources, and that employ renewable energy. Energy Globe seeks innovative projects and smart technologies in five categories: Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Youth. The international winners in each of the five categories receive €2000 in prize money. Applicants can be individuals as well as organizations (i.e., private companies and corporations, development NGOs, community associations, government agencies, universities, and others) that contribute to climate change and other environmental issues.
