The Know-how Exchange Program co-finances the transfer of know-how and best practices from EU to non-EU member countries of the Central European Initiative (CEI). Thematic areas in the current call by KEP-Italy include energy, environment, and agriculture and rural development (among others). Proposals are submitted by organizations in CEI member states which are also member states of the European Union for knowledge transfers to non-EU member states of the CEI. The non-EU members of the CEI are Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Ukraine. The maximum grant is €40 thousand. The Government of Canada seeks Canadian Small and Medium Organizations (SMO) to apply to the Development Impact Window. The aim of this call is to reduce poverty and vulnerability in developing countries by promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls. Action areas under this call include one on ‘Environment and Climate Action’. The total amount of funding available under this call is up to CA$36 million over five years. European Commission — Agribusiness Support Zambia
The European Commission seeks to reduce rural poverty and malnutrition and to improve rural livelihoods in Zambia. Projects under this call should focus on (1) Increasing investments in agriculture (including fish farming), (2) Facilitating the creation and strengthening of smallholder farmer and agribusiness associations, and (3) Generating employment opportunities, in particular for women and youth. The overall amount made available under this call is €26 million. In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must an established organization in a Member State of the European Union or Zambia. The U.S. Office of Conservation and Water seeks US applicants for the U.S.-ASEAN Smart Cities Partnership Water-Smart Exchanges (WiSE) program. The Program will pair cities in the ASEAN Smart Cities Network (ASCN) with counterparts in the United States to expand the adoption of new technologies and innovative approaches to improve the management of water resources. ASCN participants will tour U.S. locations to study water management practices and technology innovations. One single award of up to US$1.4 million is available for an initial project period of three years. Eligibility is limited to U.S. non-profit organizations and educational institutions. DAAD collaborates with the EC’s Marie Curie Program to offer the Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience (PRIME) for outstanding postdoctoral researchers across all disciplines and nationalities. Funding is provided for 18 months, of which 12 months are spent abroad and 6 months at a German university. The funding consists of salaries instead of scholarships. The Nordic Climate Facility accepts applications for the current call for proposals on the theme of “Testing the Business Viability of Climate Solutions”.
