European Commission (Horizon 2020) — Negative Emissions and Land-Use based Mitigation Assessment
The European Commission, under Horizon 2020, launches a call for research and innovation action on negative emissions and land-use based mitigation assessment. Actions should address one of the following sub-topics: Feasibility of negative emissions for climate stabilisation; or Land-based mitigation. Applicants can request a contribution between €5 million and €7 million. International cooperations and legal entities established in EU Member States, Overseas Countries and Territories and Horizon 2020 associated countries (as detailed in the call) are eligible to apply under this call. Swissuniversities Development and Cooperation Network — Clusters of Cooperation in the Global South
The Swissuniversities Development and Cooperation Network (SUDAC) aims to establish Clusters of Cooperation in the Global South (CLOCs). Activities under CLOCs shall be related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and involve education & research aspects. The requested funding for of each CLOC must not exceed CHF150 thousand. (Note: This call is not about funding research projects, but aims at establishing institutional cooperation supporting better joint research and education activities.). University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland — MENA Young Scientists Mobility Grants
The “young scientists’ mobility grant” aims to develop new research partnerships and collaborations between Switzerland and MENA countries. Priority countries under this call are: Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Qatar, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates. Mobility grants can be awarded to young scientists who hold a Bachelor or Master’s degree (no PhD) and have less than 6 years of professional research experience. The call is open for activities and research visits in all scientific disciplines and fields of research. The applicant’s mobility visit should have a minimum duration of 4 weeks and with a maximum of CHF5 thousand per grant. (Note: The application form must be completed by the Swiss main applicant). Government of India — Australia-India Strategic Research Fund
The Government of India invites research projects to apply to the Strategic Research Fund (AISRF). Priority areas for collaborative research projects are energy and storage (batteries) and marine science. Eligible organizations include universities, research laboratories, and non-profit organizations.The Indian Government will sponsor the direct costs for international airfares, living expenses, manpower-salaries and consumables. U.S. National Science Foundation — Graduate Research Opportunities Worldwide 2019
The program GROW provides funding support to U.S. graduate students to engage in international research cooperation. GROW Fellows will receive a travel allowance of US$5 thousand to cover travel and research costs associated with the international research collaboration. Collaboration is with partner institutions in Australia, Austria, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Qatar, Singapore, and Sweden. German Federal Ministry of Education and Research — German-African Innovation Incentive Award
