Khalifa University of Science and Technology — Graduate Scholarships 2019

Khalifa University of Science and Technology offers Graduate Research/ Teaching Assistant (GRTA) scholarships to support students enrolled in one of the graduate programs. The University offers a wide range of programs in different subject areas including water and environmental engineering, science and technology degrees. International students are particularly encouraged to apply. The scholarship includes the full coverage of tuition fees, medical insurance, support for conference attendance and a monthly stipend. Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership — Abe Fellowships 2019

The Abe Fellowship encourages international research in the social sciences and related disciplines on topics of pressing global concern — including climate change, sustainable urbanization, environmental degradation, and other cross-cutting issues that advance global problem solving from a transnational perspective. The fellowship program is open to citizens of Japan and the USA, as well as to nationals of other countries who can demonstrate serious long-term affiliations with research communities in Japan or the USA. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change — Scholarship for PhD Students

The IPCC Scholarship Programme provides scholarships for PhD students from developing countries for research that advances the understanding of the scientific basis of risks of climate change. The scholarship amount is €15 thousand per year for up to two years. Western Union — Scholarship for Undergraduate Study

The Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program is a program designed to support young people and their efforts to pursue a post-secondary education in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or business/entrepreneurship. Selected scholarship recipients will receive US$2,500 each to contribute toward tuition at an accredited post-secondary institution. West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use — Fellowships for Doctoral and Masters Studies

With funding provided by Germany, WASCAL engages in research to help tackle the severe challenges posed by climate change, focusing on West Africa. The WASCAL Graduate Studies Program offers full scholarships to support four master’s and six doctoral programs implemented at ten universities in West African countries. WASCAL’s member countries are Bénin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Niger, Mali, Nigeria, Sénegal, and Togo. Doctoral students may spend up to six months at a host institution in Germany. Graduate students have access to the WASCAL research facilities located in various watersheds of West Africa. Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey — Research Fellowships 2019

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) awards research fellowships to international highly qualified PhD students and young postdoctoral researchers. Applicants should be non-Turkish citizens who are age 35 or younger. Preference is for candidates who have the potential to contribute to Turkey’s international cooperation in scientific and technological development. The fields of research collaboration include agricultural sciences, among others. The research fellowship provides a monthly stipend of 2,500 Turkish Liras, plus travel and health insurance. Rothamsted International — RI-UON Fellowships

Rothamsted International and the University of Nottingham Future Food Beacon offer fellowships to promote the exchange of agricultural research.The fellowships aim to support international scientists from low- to middle-income countries. Interested Candidates must find a supervisor who the co-develops a research project with the candidate. African Union — Scholarship for Refugees in Africa

The Mwalimu Nyerere African Union Scholarship Scheme encourages the participation of young African refugees and internally displaced persons at postgraduate level, for Masters and PhD programmes in the fields of Natural Sciences, Agriculture, Health, Education, Engineering, and Social Sciences. Candidates must be under 35 years and have proof of admission to undertake a full time Masters program at a recognized university of an African Union Member State.
