WWF-India offers grants up to Rs. 400 thousand for conservation research or action projects of up to two years. Grants are made to individuals to be utilized primarily for field activities. Netherlands Enterprise Agency — Sustainable Water Fund, Round 2
The Netherlands Enterprise Agency manages the Sustainable Water Fund (FDW) as a public-private partnership for water safety and water security in developing countries. Projects are collective initiatives between governmental bodies, industries, and NGOs. The thematic areas are improved access to drinking water and sanitation (including solid waste); efficient and sustainable water use, particularly for agriculture; and safe deltas and improved basin management. Orskov Foundation — Grants in Sustainable Land Use for University Students
Orskov makes grants to support student projects in agriculture and sustainable land use in developing countries. Preference will be given to training that emphasizes animal, plant, and soil interactions. Projects should have the potential to alleviate poverty and to provide sustainable environmental benefits, including adaptation/mitigation to the impacts of climate change. Applications are invited from individuals in lower-income and lower middle-income countries. The program includes student grants up to £2,500 to support studies at a university or similar organization other than the university/college in which the applicant is registered. The application period is 01 October through 31 December of each year. Link
Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs — Voice for the Marginalized
“Voice” is a new grant program financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and implemented by a consortium between Oxfam Novib and Hivos. Voice aims to support the most marginalized and discriminated people in ten low- and lower-middle income countries of Africa and Asia. The program operates through five target groups and four grant types, explained on the website. Grants may address practically any development issue of importance to the most marginal members of a community. This may include (for example) problems of access to natural resources by indigenous groups, disadvantaged women, etc. Voice currently calls for proposals focusing on Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Kenya, Nigeria, Philippines, and Tanzania. The timing of when applications are reviewed depends on the grant type and country (check carefully). However, proposals for most grants are accepted continuously through the end of 2017 or 2019. Energy and Environmental Partnership Mekong — Support for Project Preparation
The Energy and Environment Partnership Programme with the Mekong Region (EEP Mekong) is funded by Finland’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs to improve access to sustainable energy in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. EEP Mekong offers grants to facilitate project preparation in the participating countries. The focus of preparation support will be feasibility studies on clean energy, particularly bioenergy and W2E projects, in both the public and private sectors. Other types of preparation support (cost-benefit analysis, environmental impact studies, etc.) will be considered case-by-case. EEP Mekong will fund up to 80% of the feasibility studies or other preparation costs. Proposed projects should have a minimum capital investment of €500 thousand. Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture — Field Attachment Program Award
The RUFORUM Field Attachment Program Award is a graduate student internship to link thesis research to application and use at the community level. The awards are for MSc students supported by RUFORUM, and who are finalizing their degrees. The grant provides a living stipend and limited travel for three to four months. Applications will be accepted throughout 2017. Link
Riverbanks Zoo and Garden — Conservation Support Fund
The Riverbanks Zoo and Garden (USA) makes grants for field conservation; habitat management; conservation education; ex situ captive breeding; animal health and welfare; and other themes in wildlife research and conservation. Grants generally range from US$1 thousand to US$5 thousand. The application deadlines are 01 June and 01 December. Link
Royal Bank of Canada — Blue Water Project 2017
The RBC’s Blue Water Project makes grants for watershed protection and safe drinking water in two programs. (i) The Community Action Grants are up to $10 thousand for local and community organizations in Canada, USA, and the Caribbean. (ii) Leadership Grants ranging from $10 thousand to $100 thousand are available in North America and other countries where RBC does business (including China, Hong Kong, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Bahamas, Barbados, Cayman Islands, Chile, and Uruguay). For Leadership Grants, applicants send an expression of interest before 04 November 2016. For Community Action Grants, the application deadline is 23 December 2016. Link
