The SEARCA Photo Contest with the theme REGENERATING agri-ecosystems, LOWERING “global boiling” seeks images from across Southeast Asia that showcase technologies and innovations that are modernizing and transforming agricultural and rural development toward increased food supply and security. The contest is open to all Southeast Asian nationals. Winners receive cash prizes of US$1000 (1st place), US$800 (2ndt place), and US$500 (3rd place). The Nature Conservancy — Photo Contest 2023
The Nature Conservancy Photo Contest seeks photographs that bring the natural world to people’s eyes and to their hearts. Participants can submit their pictures into five different categories: Cities and Nature; Landscape; People and Nature; Water; and Wildlife. Winners will receive gift cards and equipment. Royal Entomological Society — Insect Photography Competition
The Royal Entomological Society Insect Photography competition is open to all amateur photographers. Photographs entered for the Competition should feature an insect (or group of insects) occurring naturally in the situation in which it is photographed. The subject can be of any life-stage, from egg through nymph, larva or pupa to adult, and can be an insect from anywhere in the world. Prizes range from £250 to £750. The Royal Geographical Society with the Institute of British Geographers (RGS-IBG) makes grants for geographical research, fieldwork, and teaching that include several awards with deadlines in November. F. M. Kirby Foundation — Social Impact Prize
F. M. Kirby Impact Prize is an annual global prize of US$150 thousand that amplifies and accelerates the work of enterprises working to scale their impact on social or environmental problems around the world. Applicants must have strong evidence of impact over at least 3 years and a plan for how to use the prize to scale that impact in the next 3-5 years. Green Alley — Green Alley Award 2023
The Green Alley Award is an annual European prize for start-ups and entrepreneurs in the green economy. The award program focuses on business ideas that help build a circular economy and improve the waste and recycling industry. The contest finalists will be invited to Berlin to compete for a cash prize of €25 thousand, working space in Berlin for six months, and opportunities to raise additional funding. Trust for Sustainable Living — International Schools Essay Competition
Every year, the essay competition focuses on a different global sustainability challenge. This year’s theme is Nature-based Solutions. Participating students are invited to submit one essay (in English) entitled “How can nature help us achieve the UN SDGs in my community?”. The Grand Prize trophy winner will receive a free international trip to a TSL Summit, including £1000 spending money. Schools have to register a Teacher Champion to participate in the competition. InfoNile has organized a science communication competition that aims to engage university students in Africa to understand the critical role of conserving swamps and their biodiversity. The competition aims to foster environmental awareness and empower young scientists and conservationists in Africa to take action for swamps. Eligibility extends to teams of 2-3 university students, one from communication or journalism and a science student.
