MDPI, a publisher of peer-reviewed, open-access journals, invites applications for the 2025 Water Travel Awards. Three awards of CHF 800 each will go to junior scientists to present an oral presentation and/or poster at an international conference in 2026. AJA Foundation supports projects that provide access to clean water. AJA Foundation has a particular commitment to providing renewable clean water in rural African villages. There is no geographical restriction on where projects might be located. Funding ranges from US$2500 to US$500 thousand. The Foundation accepts LOIs on a rolling basis. Details here

The World Water Challenge is an international contest for water solutions. The Korea International Water Week (KIWW) aims to discover imminent water problems and to find feasible solutions. Participants are asked to select a water challenge (identified in the call) and submit their solution. The total prize amount for the World Water Challenge 2025 is KRW 10 million (approx. US$7,600). Winners will have the chance to be invited to the WWCH showcase during the KIWW 2025 and/or the World Water Forum. Individuals or organizations are welcome to participate. UNICEF seeks innovators worldwide to strengthen WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) systems by supporting solutions that enhance SME environments and integrate climate-sensitive data into programming. Participants will access mentorship, strategic matchmaking, global scaling opportunities, and initial catalytic funding of approximately US$150 thousand. Eligibility extends to organizations with proven, adaptable WASH innovations addressing systemic challenges and capable of scaling impact across multiple geographies. The UAE Research Program for Rain Enhancement Science (UAEREP) invites innovative research proposals. The program seeks to advance rain enhancement science and technology, focusing on five key areas: enhanced seeding materials, rain enhancement systems, autonomous aerial systems, localized climate intervention, and advanced models, software, and data. Eligible applicants include domestic and international public or private, non-profit or for-profit organizations, and individuals. Proposals are evaluated based on scientific merit, project plan, team qualifications, resource availability, and capacity building. The International Water Association calls for nominations for the Ardern-Lockett Award and the IWA MEWE Early- and Mid-Career Researcher Awards. The Ardern-Lockett award recognizes outstanding contributions to research and practice in the field of Microbial Ecology and Water Engineering. The MEWE Early- and Mid-Career Award recognize accomplishments of a mid-career professional in the field of Microbial Ecology and Water Engineering. The Mediterranean Youth Water Hackathon invites young innovators aged 18 to 35 to collaborate and create game-changing solutions addressing the challenges and opportunities within the Water, Energy, Food, and Ecosystems (WEFE) Nexus.
