SEED offers valuable resources and professional support to expand entrepreneurial ideas while learning from peers during interactive SEED Starter workshops. SEED Starter workshops consist of a team of 2-5 members that bring in a business idea for addressing environmental, social and economic challenges. Successful alumni are invited to apply for a SEED Grant for up to €1,000 which pays for resources required to establish the new enterprise. Global Research Council — SDGs Collaborative Funding
The Global Research Council (GRC) aims to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs through collaborative research initiatives. Projects will be funded through international consortia consisting of eligible partner organizations from at least three different countries. Consortia must be based in the following countries: Chile, China, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Norway, South Africa, Switzerland, Sweden, Tanzania, The Netherlands and Turkey. Alongside Wildlife Foundation — Supporting Marginalized Groups in Wildlife Conservation
The Alongside Wildlife Foundation supports projects that are led by or will increase involvement of minorities and members of marginalized groups in wildlife conservation. The Foundation supports the collection of scientific data, science communication to reduce human/wildlife conflict, and the implementation of science-based strategies for living alongside wildlife populations. United States Agency for International Development — Partnership to Conserve the Amazon
The United States Agency for International Development in Brazil (USAID/Brazil) seeks novel or creative approaches to conserve the Amazon and further advance biodiversity and forest conservation while promoting long-term community well-being. Each anticipated award will have a minimum value of US$2.5 million of USAID funding. Eligibility extends to on-profit organizations, companies, foundations, community-based enterprises, academic and research institutions. The closing date for applications is 14 July 2023. Link
Genesis Charitable Trust — Grants for Local Sustainable Development
The Genesis Charitable Trust makes grants to help individuals and communities in developing countries to improve their standards of living. The Trust favors projects that aim for long-term income generation and self-sufficiency, especially projects making a positive impact on communities currently beyond the reach of traditional government or market-based solutions. Past projects include examples in small-scale agriculture, renewable energy, and fisheries — among other focus areas. The Trust does not set a minimum or maximum grant value, although grants generally do not exceed US$300 thousand per project. Grants are restricted to nonprofit organizations in eligible developing countries, or applicants that are associated with nonprofit organizations from the UK, US, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand or Singapore. The United States African Development Foundation (USADF) provides assistance under the Community Development Institutions Program to assist local development institutions to strengthen their capacity to support community-based and other activities that benefit the underserved. Small Initiatives Program — Nature Conservation in Africa
The Small Initiatives Program (PPI) launches a call for project proposals for emerging African Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working around major issues of nature conservation and/or the fight against climate change. The eligible themes are the conservation of biodiversity and the fight against climate change through nature-based solutions. The maximum contribution is €35 thousand. Enel Grids — Safeguarding Biodiversity from Electric Distribution Assets
Enel Grids seeks collaboration partners to provide an innovative approach that will safeguard biodiversity prior to the installation of electric distribution assets (overhead electrical lines and/or substations). Participants should propose innovative strategies that minimize the effect on biodiversity and promote its protection during the installation of electric infrastructure. The European Commission (EC) invites innovative and sustainable algae-based solutions and products for uses such as human consumption, animal feed, wastewater treatment, or applications for agriculture to the market. Projects require multi-stakeholder engagements with active participation from academia, organizations, citizens, civil society, start-ups, SMEs and other businesses.
