African Business Heroes aims to support the next generation of African entrepreneurs who are making a difference in their local communities by working to solve the most pressing problems. Applications are open in English and French to entrepreneurs from all African countries, all sectors, and all ages. Ten finalists will compete for a share of US$1.5 million in grant money. Morris Animal Foundation — Veterinary Student Scholar Program
The Morris Animal Foundation supports research on animal health and welfare, including wildlife/exotics. The Foundation provides veterinary students with the opportunity to become involved in mentored research that advances the health and/or welfare of companion animals and wildlife exotics. The Veterinary Student Scholars program awards stipends of up to US$5 thousand to veterinary students. The program is open to currently enrolled veterinary students from all around the world. School of International Futures — Next Generation Foresight Fellowship
The Next Generation Foresight Fellowship is an opportunity for young professionals to have more support as they begin to explore the futures and foresight field. Each fellow receives a US$1,000 prize to develop and accelerate their project. By the end of their fellowship, all fellows have the chance to run for the Fellowship Main Prize, which consists of US$10 thousand. The fellowship is open to anyone aged between 18 and 35. Einstein Forum — Einstein Fellowship 2025
The Einstein Forum offers a fellowship for early-career researchers who wish to pursue a project in a different field from that of their previous research. Please note that the proposed project must be significantly different in content, field, and form, from the applicant’s previous work. The fellowship includes living accommodations for up to 6 months in Caputh (Germany). The fellow will receive a stipend of €10 thousand and reimbursement of travel expenses. British Herpetological Society — Student Grants
The British Herpetological Society (BHS) offers small grants to current students in support of herpetological fieldwork and other research costs. Projects which benefit species of conservation concern are likely to be favored. The scheme is open to students and research projects in any country, but applications from countries where funds are relatively easy to obtain may be at a disadvantage. American Society of Primatologists — Conservation Grants 2024
The American Society of Primatologists (ASP) supports students and young researchers from habitat countries who are engaged in primate conservation. Grant proposals are invited for either captive or wild primate-oriented research projects. Applications for start-up funds, supplementary funding for students, and innovations in animal care and research technology are welcome. Award amounts range from US$500 to US$1500. Matsumae International Foundation — Research Fellowships 2025
The Matsumae International Foundation awards short-term fellowships (of 3-6 months) for pursuing research in Japan. Preference is for applicants in natural science, engineering, and medicine who select the Japanese host institutions (university research laboratories, national research institutions, or private industry). Applicants should hold a PhD degree, be less than 49 years old, and have sufficient conversational ability in Japanese or English. The application deadline is 30 June 2024. More information here
Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research — SFIAR Award 2024
SFIAR annually awards a prize to scientists working at or in association with a Swiss institution in agricultural research for development. For 2024, the best team project will be awarded CHF10 thousand, and the best masters thesis CHF1 thousand. United States-India Educational Foundation — Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Research Fellowships 2025-2026
The Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Research Fellowships support Indians residing in India to pursue a master’s degree program at selected U.S. colleges and universities. The many eligible subject areas include environmental sciences such as agricultural sciences, natural resource management, pollution prevention, environmental law, environmental engineering, and environmental policy analysis (among others). The Indo-German Science & Technology Center (IGSTC) invites applications from women researchers in India/Germany to participate and collaborate in an ongoing Research and Development project. Women researchers and entrepreneurs holding a regular position in academic research institutions in India and Germany may apply. The grant will cover basic project assistance.
