French National Centre for Scientific Research — Collaborations with Sub-Saharan Africa

The French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) supports existing collaborations and/or preparations with partners from Sub-Saharan Africa (excluding South Africa). The aim is the development of long-term scientific partnerships with African institutions. Applicants may propose individual exchanges between researchers, seminars or summer schools. Future Food — Postdoc Fellowships to Young Researchers

Future Food – A Swiss Research Initiative awards up to ten postdoc fellowships each year to further expand research and education in the area of food and nutrition sciences. The fellowship provides personal research funds for three years, enabling fellows to work on their projects in a Swiss research laboratory. The total funds per fellowship may not exceed CHF390 thousand. Applicants must hold a doctorate (PhD). There is no restriction on nationality. German Government — International Climate Initiative: Thematic Selection

The International Climate Initiative (IKI) funds climate projects that address pressing challenges in the areas of climate change mitigation and biodiversity conservation, including the unique issues caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The funding amount provided by the German Government ranges from €5 million to €30 million per project. Applicants for funding must apply as a consortium. Nonprofit organizations, enterprises, universities and research institutions as well as international intergovernmental organizations are eligible. The selection procedure is done in two stages. Wallonie Bruxelles International — Excellence Scholarship Program

Wallonie Bruxelles International (WBI) offers postdoctoral scholarships through the Excellence Scholarship Program. Focus areas include life sciences, agriculture-industry, environmental technologies, and others. Applications are open to candidates of any nationality that hold a doctor higher education diploma. The deadline for applications for long term scholarships (min. 1 year) is 01 March 2021, and for short term scholarships (1-3 months) is 01 February 2021 and 01 May 2021. Find out more

American Society of Primatologists — Research Grants 2021

The American Society of Primatologists (ASP) supports students and young researchers from habitat countries who are engaged in primate conservation. The ASP Research Award amounts range from US$500 to US$1,500 and support training initiatives, start-up funds, supplementary funding for students, and innovations in animal care and research technology. Applications will be accepted until 19 March 2021. More

Agropolis Fondation — Innovative Co-Learning for Agriculture-based Solutions

The Agropolis Fondation aims to foster new collaborations across agricultural research disciplines and/or stakeholders for co-learning (i.e., cross-learning between researchers from different disciplines, between academic and non-academic actors, or between researchers and PhD students). This call will fund the research and training needs of postdoc scientists, PhD students, young early-career scientists, and summer schools. The Agropolis Fondation intends to award two Post-doctoral Fellowships (of up to €68 thousand per project), four partial doctoral Fellowships (of up to €65 thousand per project), five young scientist research proposals (of up to €20 thousand per project), and four thematic summer or winter schools (of up to €20 thousand per project). Columbia Center on Sustainable Development — Training on Sustainable Investments in Agriculture

Columbia University invites applications for a training course on Sustainable Investments in Agriculture. Due to the current global situation, the 2021 training program will be held virtually, not in-person. Ben Gurion University of the Negev — Postdoctoral Desert Research in Israel 2021-22

Candidates who are interested in conducting postdoctoral research at the Jacob Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research in Israel are invited to apply for fellowships. Research topics include desert ecology, solar energy, environmental physics, architecture and urban planning, rainfed and irrigated agriculture, hydrology, aquaculture, environmental microbiology, desalination and water treatment, and biotechnology. The current value of the BCSC fellowship is US$25 thousand. Candidates should first select a topic of interest and identify a prospective supervisor. Applications are open worldwide.
