Climate Arena has a fellowship opportunity for those who have a cross-border and investigative climate story idea. Fellows will be invited to join the Climate Arena journalism conference in Vienna (November 2023), receiving mentoring and training right up to publication time. Fellows will have the opportunity to set up teams and receive a working grant up to €2000. Applicants should be based in Europe to be able to benefit from the program. Deadline is 31 August 2023. Africa Energy Fellowship for Young Energy Leaders (AFYEL) is a capacitation program for early-career energy leaders working on sustainable access to energy and ultimately a zero carbon Africa. The fellowship includes expert training sessions to enable participants to get empowered and gain clarity to create solutions in the area. The Climate Story Lab is a training program with focus on storytellers in Nigeria and West Africa, whose works are rooted in climate storytelling with strong focus on the region. Projects should be non-fiction films, immersive and interactive stories or podcasts. Fiction films with a clear climate perspective can also be considered. Projects must be in production, post-production or distribution and outreach stages. Applicants must be 18 years or older and be a national of any West African country. Our Kids Climate makes climate microgrants to help you carry out climate projects and activities, for example, webinars, art exhibitions, communication materials, or campaigning actions. Microgrants are small grants (£2 thousand or £4 thousand) for parent-led, intergenerational, and family-centered climate engagement work. The Climate Parent Fellowship aims to support parent-led, intergenerational, and family-centered climate engagement work. Fellows receive training, mentorship, and a part-time stipend, which aims to make their climate organizing work more sustainable. The grants will range from US$15 thousand US$20 thousand. Applicants must be over 18 years old but in addition to parent-led climate organizers, the organizers consider all applicants working on intergenerational and family-friendly climate organizing. South Pole seeks innovative start-ups and companies in sustainable technology and clean energy solutions, community water systems, and others interested in developing carbon credit projects. Successful ventures in the program will benefit from support in development, project validation and certification and carbon credits. The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation offers 15 fellowships for young climate experts from developing countries interested in conducting a project in Germany and pursuing long-term collaboration. The fellowship (up to €2,670 per month) allows future leaders to spend a year in Germany working on a research-based project of their own choice in the field of climate protection. Faith For Our Planet, in collaboration with Duke University, launches a program for climate conscious youth leaders from around the world. The program targets religious leaders, climate activists and early-career professionals in faith-based organizations who wish to mobilize faith communities to combat climate change. Participants will have the opportunity to expand their networks and develop their skills to deliver an impactful faith-based climate action project. The SCALA Private Sector Engagement Facility seeks to identify private sector-oriented interventions to engage businesses in implementing climate plans to mobilize resources and develop innovative climate services solutions. The call for interest to receive support from the SCALA PSE Facility is open to Small Island Developing States and middle-income countries. The Climate, Food and Farming, Global Research Alliance Development Scholarships (CLIFF-GRADS) Program is a capacity training program for early-career scientists from developing countries to conduct applied research in agriculture greenhouse gas emissions quantification and mitigation. The opportunity is open to PhD students undertaking their PhD at a university in a developing country. Successful applicants will go on short term (4-6 month) research stays at a host institution.
