Earth Journalism Network — Biodiversity Story Grants in the Western Balkans

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting grants to support in-depth journalism on biodiversity threats, conservation solutions, and the value of nature in the Western Balkans. This program is open to professional staff and freelance journalists working in any medium who are based in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia. EJN expects to award up to 15 grants with an average budget of €1,200 per story to cover reporting costs such as travel, research, and equipment. Selected journalists also receive one-on-one editorial mentorship to help develop and publish their work by August 2026. The application deadline is 19 February 2026. Link
