Columbia Climate School — Postdoctoral Research Program

The Columbia Climate School invites applications for the Postdoctoral Research Program. Climate School Postdocs will receive an annual salary of US$71,640. They are also awarded a research stipend of US$12 thousand over the two-year term for reimbursable expenses related to the appointment. The program is open to U.S. and non-U.S. citizens. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — World Food Day Poster Contest (Age 5-19)

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FOA) calls on children and teens from all over the world (ages 5 to 19) to use their imagination and create a poster of their water action for food. “Rights to foods” explores how we should all be able to enjoy nutritious food so that we can grow and live an active life. Swiss National Science Foundation — Team-oriented Cross-border Research

The Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) offers funding through the Swiss Programme for International Research by Scientific Investigation Teams (SPIRIT) to research projects in all disciplines. Grants should contribute to the education of researchers in participating countries, with a special focus on equal opportunities and the promotion of women scientists. Research groups can request between CHF50 thousand and CHF500 thousand. The duration of projects is limited to 2-4 years. Applicants from two to four eligible countries are eligible to apply (SNSF determines the eligible partner countries based on the official list of countries receiving development assistance). American Philosophical Society — Fund for Exploration and Field Research

The Lewis and Clark Fund for Exploration and Field Research supports doctoral students in collecting specimens and data in disciplines relying heavily on field studies, e.g., biology, ecology, geography, and others. Applicants from the USA may use the grants for research anywhere in the world. Applicants from other countries must be based at an institution in the USA, or carry out their work in the USA. Hawk Migration Association of North America — Research Award

The Hawk Migration Association of North America Research Award supports field studies relating to raptor migration ecology and behavior, population monitoring, and conservation. Up to two proposals with a total value of US$1 thousand each will be funded per year. Grants can be used for research targeted to understanding the connectivity among breeding, migrating, and non-breeding distributions of raptor species or monitoring activities. Minor Foundation for Major Challenges — Public Awareness on Climate Change

The Minor Foundation for Major Challenges funds communication projects that mitigate anthropogenic climate change. Proposals should focus on influencing public opinion, providing inspiration, changing attitudes, spreading information, etc. The Foundation welcomes applications from all over the world. The Foundation makes large grants ranging from €20 thousand to €200 thousand, although larger projects may be considered.
