The UNICEF Leading Minds Fellowship on Climate Education is a global, youth-focused fellowship designed to empower young climate leaders to strengthen and transform climate education in formal and informal settings. Up to 12 fellows aged 10–30 will be selected to research, advocacy, policy shaping, storytelling, and systems change while receiving a stipend and access to mentorship, networking and visibility opportunities. UN Decade Youth Task Force — Microgrants
The UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration Youth Task Force Microgrant Call supports youth-led initiatives that advance ecosystem restoration and environmental action under the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. The call is open to youth-led groups, organizations, and informal collectives from around the world that are actively implementing or planning small-scale restoration, awareness, or community-based environmental projects. Massachusetts Institute of Technology — Water Innovation Prize 2025
The MIT Water Innovation Prize is a startup competition focused on water innovation. Submitted projects must involve a technology, product, service, or process aimed at solving a problem related to the world’s water challenges. Entering teams must include at least one student who is fully enrolled at any college or university. There are no restrictions regarding nationality. Earth Journalism Network — Investigative Reporting Fellowship: Extreme Weather in the Philippines
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers reporting fellowships to journalists in the Philippines to support the production of investigative and in-depth reports on adaptation measures and government preparedness for climate-induced natural disasters. EJN accepts applications from journalists based in the Philippines with a minimum of two years of professional journalism experience. Global Research Alliance — Climate, Food and Farming Scholarships
The Climate, Food and Farming, Global Research Alliance Development Scholarships (CLIFF-GRADS) Program is a capacity training program for early-career scientists from developing countries to conduct applied research in agriculture greenhouse gas emissions quantification and mitigation. The opportunity is open to PhD students undertaking their PhD at a university in a developing country. Successful applicants will go on short term (4-6 month) research stays at a host institution. Successful applicants receive a grant of about US$14 thousand to cover travel, living and research costs during their research stay. Eligible applicants must be currently enrolled in a PhD programme at a university in a developing country and must not have previously received a CLIFF-GRADS grant. Algalita — Mini Grants to Combat Plastic Pollution
The Wayfinder Society Student Mini-Grant supports student-led projects that reduce plastic pollution and protect ocean health. The grant is open to students ages 11–25 worldwide who are leading or developing projects that address the root cause of plastic pollution. Global Resilience Partnership — Innovation Challenge for Entrepreneurs
The Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) Innovation Challenge for Entrepreneurs supports innovative, locally grounded solutions that strengthen resilience to climate-driven extreme events such as floods, landslides, heatwaves, droughts, and glacial hazards in the Hindu Kush Himalaya region. The call is open to local organizations, NGOs, research institutions, social enterprises, startups, and community-based groups working in or with communities in HKH countries. German Academic Exchange Service — In-Region Southeast Asia Scholarships
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and SERCA offer MS and PhD scholarships in agriculture at partner universities in Southeast Asia. The scholarship is open to nationals from Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, Timor-Leste, Thailand, and Vietnam planning to pursue graduate studies in development-related fields. Cornell University — Structural Transformation of African Agriculture and Rural Spaces
The Structural Transformation of African Agriculture and Rural Spaces (STAARS) fellowship program announces its annual call for research proposals. STAARS Fellows will be paired with researcher mentors from Cornell University or the World Bank with whom they will jointly author a paper on a topic of mutual interest relating to structural transformation in Africa south of the Sahara. The call is open to early career researchers, either Ph.D. students in their final year prior to degree completion.
