National Geographic Society — The Human Thread

National Geographic invites storytelling projects documenting the origins and current expressions of global cultures and religions, within its Human Histories and Cultures focus area. Two tiers: Level I (up to US$20,000, for those new to NGS funding, one year to implement) or Level II (up to US$100,000, for more established applicants, two years). Applicants must be 18+, apply in English, and submit a portfolio of prior media work. Priority goes to applicants with lived experience or established relationships in the communities they’re documenting. The deadline is 01 December 2026. Know more
