Rescued Tools Foundation

Donations of tools and equipment for projects in African community development

Principal Office: Netherlands

The Rescued Tools Foundation (Gered Gereedschap) collects and refurbishes discarded tools and small items of equipment for the benefit of technical schools and small enterprises in the developing world, with a focus on selected countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The Foundation aims to help stimulate capacity development, employment, and increased self-sufficiency through its contribution of productive tools.

Grant Programs for Agriculture, Energy, Environment, Natural Resources

In-kind grants of tools and small equipment. The Foundation favors projects that offer opportunities for women, marginalized groups, co-operatives, and ecological awareness and environmental protection.

The focus countries are Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana and Malawi. Other countries can apply by exception if the applying organization can organize and pay for the transportation of the tools.

APPLICATION: Organizations which believe they are qualified for support by Rescued Tools fill out a questionnaire.

The questionnaire requests information about the applying organization; references and contacts; purpose and details of the tools request; and information about transport and customs clearing of the tools.

Volunteers in Amsterdam handle the applications, check references, request additional information, and submit final applications to the Advisory Committee.
