Fund for Innovation and Transformation

Testing innovative solutions to advance gender equality and
empower women and girls in the Global South

The Fund for Innovation and Transformation (FIT) supports Canadian small and medium-sized organizations (SMOs) testing innovative solutions to advance gender equality in the Global South.

In addition, the program seeks to foster collective learning and build the capacity through the creation of knowledge-sharing spaces and practices.

Grant Programs for Agriculture, Energy, Environment, Natural Resources

Women and Girls. FIT provides funding to support testing of a range of creative solutions to local development challenges in developing countries. Examples of innovation include business models, policy practices, approaches, partnerships, technologies, behavioral insights, financing mechanisms or ways of delivering products and services.

In general, funding is for projects that are gender-responsive and seek to empower women, girls and vulnerable communities.

FIT makes grants of CA$150 thousand to CA$250 thousand over a 6-15 month period.

About innovation

APPLICATION: The application has three steps: Eligibility Self-Assessment, submission of a Concept Note, and submission of a Full Proposal.
