Fondation Ensemble was established to improve the living conditions of underprivileged populations in developing countries, and to restore their environment. The Foundation’s founders in France represent a leading European company in holiday accommodations.
The focus sectors in Fondation Ensemble are sustainable agriculture; sustainable fisheries; biodiversity conservation; and sustainable technologies.
Grant Programs for Agriculture, Energy, Environment, Natural Resources
1 — Projects in All Sectors. Fondation Ensemble makes grants in the subject areas of sustainable agriculture; sustainable fisheries; biodiversity conservation; and sustainable technologies (energy, construction, waste conversion). The focus countries are Ecuador, Peru, Mozambique, Madagascar, Laos and Myanmar.
Grants are to nonprofit NGOs, foundations, local authorities, research institutes, etc., that are engaged in project implementation in one or more of the Foundation’s focus sectors, and in one or more of its focus countries. Eligibility for funding extends to organizations established for at least three full years, and with annual budgets of at least €500 thousand.
Grants are €50 thousand per year for projects of two to four years. The Foundation provides no more than 50% of a project’s budget.
About grant making
2 — Threatened Animal Species. Fondation Ensemble makes small grants up to €8 thousand for projects of one to two years that contribute to protecting one or more threatened animal species, according to IUCN’s classification.
Projects can be implemented in any country.
Eligibility for funding extends to organizations established for at least two full years. The Foundation provides no more than 50% of a project’s budget.
About threatened animal species
APPLICATION (for 1-2 preceding): The Foundation announces calls for proposals. It provides guidelines, criteria, and application forms. Calls are usually launched mid-December of each year.
Grant seekers submit draft proposals of concept notes before the calendar deadlines. For applicants who pass this pre-selection stage, the Foundation requests more information.
Applications can be submitted in either French or English.
