Clean Cooking Alliance

Grants to increase the use of clean and efficient stoves for household cooking in the developing world

Principal Office: USA

The Clean Cooking Alliance (formerly known as Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves) is a public-private initiative to create a global market for clean and efficient household cooking solutions. The Alliance aims to foster the adoption of clean cookstoves and fuels in 100 million households by 2020 to address issues of health and safety, women’s work, and environmental degradation.

The Alliance has several objectives:

  • Expand awareness about the benefits of clean cookstoves;
  • Support training and demonstration of their use;
  • Promote market intelligence about where improved stoves are wanted and needed;
  • Encourage research and development of improved stove technologies and product designs; and
  • Foster increased capital investment to finance the growth of cookstove enterprises.
