The Marsh Christian Trust makes grants to support charitable organizations across a wide range of interests, and it sponsors the Marsh Awards.

The grants provide core support for charities active in environmental and animal welfare, among other subject areas. Since its inception, the Trust has been a supporter of organizations devoted to nature conservation and the well-being of wildlife, both within the UK and internationally.

The awards recognize and honor outstanding individuals in over 60 categories of conservation, science, and other fields.

Core funding. The Trust makes grants to support small registered charities through long-term core funding. It supports roughly 250 different charities per year across fields that include (among others):

  • Environmental causes and animal welfare; and
  • A small number of overseas charities.

Grants are in the form of money given on a recurring annual basis subject to yearly re-submission and review.

The size of grants ranges from £300 to £2,000. New applications are at the lower end of this scale.

APPLICATION: The Trust does not have a standard application form.

Applications consist of a short cover letter and copy of the applying organization’s most recent reports and accounts (or equivalent for organizations whose annual income is under £25 thousand).

Applications are sent to the Trust’s postal address in London, where they are reviewed on a continuous basis (i.e., there is no calendar deadline).
