Acumen Fund — Regional Fellows in Malaysia

The Acumen Fund seeks to harness the power of social innovation to create solutions to the world’s most pressing problems. The Fund administers regional programs in different world regions. In each region, 20 fellows are selected for a leadership development program of five one-week seminars while remaining in their jobs. Acumen covers all program expenses related to travel and accommodations, but it does not offer scholarships, stipends, or other funding. Past fellows have included several in smallholder agriculture, renewable energy, waste management, fair trade, and other subject areas. Government of India — India-Japan Cooperative Science Program

The India-Japan Cooperative Science Programme (IJCSP) aims to promote bilateral scientific collaboration between Indian and Japanese scientists. Applications are invited from Indian researchers/scientists to submit proposals for Joint Research Projects and Joint Workshops/Seminars. Areas for cooperation for research include Life Science & Agriculture, among others. The duration of the projects can be up to two years. The program will cover international travel cost, accommodation, per-diem and local travel. The deadline for the submission of proposals is 06 September 2022. Link to IJCSP

Earth Company — Impact Hero 2023

Each year, Earth Company selects one Impact Hero that has the potential to transform the future of developing countries in the Asia-Pacific. Impact Heroes are visionary leaders that tackle some of the most pressing social and environmental challenges and make transformative changes to the communities they serve. Earth Company provides 3 years of support through leadership coaching, fundraising, marketing and business development. Eligibility extends to everybody and all forms of organizations. Wilson Center — MENA Youth Fellowship

The Wilson Center announces a call for applications for the “Agents of Change Youth Fellowship,” a professional fellowship program for emerging leaders seeking meaningful careers at the intersection of climate change and security. The program is open to applicants from countries in the MENA region with a minimum of 5 years of work experience. Fellows can be located in any geographic location with strong Internet access for conducting regular video conferences. Applications are due by 15 September 2022. MENA Youth Fellowship

United Nations Industrial Development Organisation — Innovative Solutions towards Net-Zero

UNIDO seeks innovative technology solutions that address the adverse effects of climate change and that have the potential to be scaled up, and thus ultimately contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic development. Priority will be given to applications with solutions for: decarbonizing growing urban environments, generating and distributing clean energy, recycling for more climate-cautious consumption, and innovative solutions for sustainable land management. The call is addressed to private sector entities (micro, small, medium, and large companies & startups). Twelve winners will have the opportunity to present their innovative solution to a large audience during the Global Call award ceremony and will benefit from promotional and networking support. Commonwealth Scholarship Commission — Professional Fellowships 2022/23

Commonwealth Professional Fellowships support mid-career professionals from developing Commonwealth countries to make professional visits (typically of three months) with UK host organizations. Applications are invited in the thematic area of clean energy, air and oceans. Fellows must be Commonwealth citizens, refugees, or British protected persons — and they must be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country. World Academy of Sciences — Research Cooperation Visits Program

TWAS-SISSA-Lincei invites young scientists from least developed countries to carry out collaborative research projects in Physics, Neuroscience, Mathematics, Science Outreach as well as projects that fall under the umbrella of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Scientists have the opportunity to visit research laboratories in Trieste (Italy) to carry out research work in scientific fields within the SISSA portfolio. U.S. African Development Foundation — Smallholder Irrigation Revitalization Program

The Smallholder Irrigation Revitalization Program (SIRP) invites proposals from African cooperatives, producer groups, and associations for grant financing and local support for innovative solutions related to irrigation schemes. Proposals will only be accepted from registered agricultural cooperatives and SMEs in Zimbabwe working directly in the Agriculture value chain. The maximum grant award is US$50 thousand. International Tropical Timber Organization — Freezailah Fellowships 2023

The International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) makes grants through the Freezailah Fellowship Fund in support of capacity building. The grant can be used for training opportunities, demonstration tours, participation in conferences and workshops, preparation of technical papers, and post-graduate degrees. Grants up to US$10 thousand are in support of sustainable tropical forest management. Applicants are young and mid-career professionals in ITTO’s member countries; most grants are to individuals in developing countries. The next application deadline is 01 September 2022. Alongside Wildlife Foundation — Supporting Marginalized Groups in Wildlife Conservation

The Alongside Wildlife Foundation supports projects that are led by or will increase involvement of minorities and members of marginalized groups in wildlife conservation. The Foundation supports the collection of scientific data, science communication to reduce human/wildlife conflict, and the implementation of science-based strategies for living alongside wildlife populations. The Foundation provides seed grants of up to US$2 thousand per project. Applications are invited from all around the world. Proposals must be submitted by 15 September 2022. More information
