The Scientific Exploration Society (SES) makes awards to “pioneers with purpose” who combine innovative field expeditions with important research contributions, including in subject areas related to environment and conservation. The awards are intended to provide a financial contribution to the overall cost of the fieldwork phase of scientific exploration. Grants range from US$4 thousand to US$7 thousand. Wildlife Acoustics – Bio-Acoustics Product Grants
Wildlife Acoustics aims to advance animal biology research, habitat monitoring and environmental conservation through bio-acoustics recording technology. The Wildlife Acoustics Scientific Product Grant Program offers US$4 thousand of product-in-kind grants to biologists, researchers, conservationists, and students who work for charitable, educational, and other tax-exempt organizations. Snow Leopard Network — Training Grant
The Snow Leopard Network invited applications for the Snow Leopard Training Grant which is designed to further strengthen snow leopard conservation and research. The scope of the capacity projects to be funded includes training workshops, protected area management, conservation education, women conservation leadership training and wildlife population monitoring. Awards range from US$1,000 to US$1,500. The grant is open to researchers, practitioners, and organizations working to support snow leopard conservation. Village Capital — Food Security and Resilience
Village Capital seeks entrepreneurs across Latin America to increase food security and resilience by supporting startups focused on reshaping consumer behavior and reducing loss risk in production. Participants have access to mentorship and milestone-based funding of US$4 thousand per organization. Eligibility extends to for-profit entities in Latin America that have a market-based solution that tackles food loss and food waste challenges. Applications close 17 February 2023. Eco-Generation — Youth Ambassadors for Environment
Eco-Generation announces the call for applications for the 30th Eco-Generation Regional Ambassadors Program. Eco-Generation is a social networking platform offering a range of possibilities for engaging children and young adults to advance their role and commitment in environmental conservation and protection. Regional Ambassadors serve for six months from March 2023 until August 2023. Youth aged between 13 and 24 qualify to become an ambassador and represent Tunza Eco-Generation. The Ambassador Program provides exceptional experiences with the opportunities to actively plan, to execute or participate in various environmental awareness programs around the world. Rice University — Business Plan Competition for Early-Stage Startups
The Rice University (Texas, USA) invites student teams to participate in the Rice Business Plan Competition 2023. Entrepreneurs receive the opportunity to pitch their startups to investors, receive mentoring, network with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and enhance their startup strategy. Typically, startups have a technology component in Energy/Clean Technology; Life Science/Biotechnology; or Digital Services. The competition is open to degree-seeking students currently enrolled at a U.S. or non-U.S. university. The grand prize winner receives up to $300 thousand in investments. NextWorldNow Community Investments — Community Grants 2023
NextWorldNow (NWN) is committed to working with community leaders who are solving difficult social problems. This includes social problems related to water, sanitation, deforestation, smallholder productivity, and food security — among other subject areas. Grants are up to US$10 thousand. To apply, community organizations submit a short “Notification of Interest” to register their intent to submit a formal grant application. Neotropical Grassland Conservancy — Conservation Research and Education in Latin America: Equipment and Student Grants
The Neotropical Grassland Conservancy (NGC) provides grants and equipment to students and scientists working in grassland habitats in Latin America. Research grants of one year are open to Latin American researchers affiliated with a university, museum, or conservation organization. Additionally, the NGC offers equipment grants for conservation science, and small grants to Latin American graduate students doing field projects. The NGC describes the amount of funding; eligibility criteria; review process; and application deadlines for each of the three programs. Awards range from US$500 to US$5 thousand. European Commission — STARTS Prize 2023
STARTS Prize is an innovation challenge of the European Commission honoring innovative artistic projects inspired by technology, industry and society. Projects from all fields of technological and scientific research and development that have been inspired by art or involve artists as catalysts of novel thinking are eligible. The World Habitat Awards (WHA) demonstrate solutions to current housing issues faced by countries worldwide.
