UN Global Compact — Young SDG Innovators Program

The Young SDG Innovators Program is an accelerator program for future business leaders and changemakers to develop and drive innovative SDG solutions through new technologies, initiatives, and business models. Participants participate in online and in-person workshops, case studies, company visits and forum discussions. Companies based in Brazil, China, Kenya, Mexico, South Africa, Ukraine, United Kingdom or the United States have the opportunity to collaborate with their Global Compact Local Networks to nominate young professionals for the program. Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen — CrossCulture Program 2023

The Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (ifa) seeks professionals and volunteers from South and Southeast Asia, Eurasia and Central Asia, Eastern Europe and Russia, and MENA countries to participate in a 2-3 months training program at host organizations in Germany or in CCP partner countries. Professional fellowships are being offered in Sustainable Development, and five other fields. The Fellowship covers travel expenses, accommodation, insurance, and a monthly allowance of €550. The applicant must be between the ages of 23 and 45 and have at least two years of proven professional experience or volunteer work in a civil society organization in the country of origin. Embassy of Japan in Mozambique — Water and Sanitation

The Embassy of Japan in Mozambique provides financial assistance to non-profit organizations in support of Basic Human Needs, including Water and Sanitation. The maximum grant amount per project is 10 million yen (approx. US$66 thousand). Potential recipients are community-based nonprofit organizations that implement development projects at grass-roots level (NGOs, educational institutions, local governments, etc.). United States Agency for International Development — Urban Sanitation Madagascar

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) announces the Madagascar Urban Sanitation Project. USAID/Madagascar aims to engage eligible partners to expand water and sanitation in urban areas. USAID anticipates supporting one award of up to US$10 million over five years. Eligibility is unrestricted, however, certain conditions have to be met. Please study the official announcement carefully. The closing date for applications is 03 January 2023. Link

Mastercard Foundation — Scholarships for Africans at University of Cambridge

The Mastercard Foundation funds economically disadvantaged students from Sub-Saharan Africa for study at the University of Cambridge. The fields of study include different areas of sciences and STEM fields; and many others. The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program covers the cost of travel and visas, accommodation, meals, allowance for a laptop, health cover, and a living stipend – as well as tuition costs. These scholarships cover the full period of study and are renewable annually. The scholarship application has to be submitted no later than 05 January 2023. Link

American Association of Zoo Veterinarians — Zoological Medicine and Wildlife Health Research Grant

The American Association of Zoo Veterinarians (AAZV) awards the Zoological Medicine and Wildlife Health Research Grant to professionals in zoological medicine for the care and conservation of captive and free-ranging wildlife. Two categories of funding are available: standard grants (maximum US$20 thousand) and small grants (maximum US$7,500). Application deadline is 09 January 2023. Click here for the Guidelines

Ocean Foundation — Scholarship for Sea Turtle Preservation

The Ocean Foundation and the Boyd Lyon Sea Turtle Fund seek applicants for the Boyd N. Lyon Scholarship. Students with field research projects on sea turtle behavior and habitat use in the marine environment, as well as projects that promote sea turtle conservation in coastal ecosystems can apply. One award of US$2,500 will be made to a Masters or PhD student. The applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college or university during 2022/2023. The application deadline is 15 January 2023. Kinship Foundation — Conservation Fellows 2023

The Kinship Foundation invites fellows worldwide to participate in its month-long conservation leadership program in the USA. Kinship focuses on market-based mechanisms for conservation by strengthening the participants’ skills in leadership, communication, economics, and business and finance. Selected participants receive training and a US$6 thousand stipend to cover travel and living expenses. Applicants should be mid-career conservation practitioners with at least five years of field experience, a bachelor’s degree, and a demonstrated desire to innovate. American University in Cairo — African Graduate Fellowships

The African Graduate Fellowship offers African students with limited financial means the opportunity to pursue a master degree at the American University in Cairo (AUC). Nationals of African countries (excluding Egypt) can apply for full-time study in any graduate program offered at the AUC, including the Master of Science programs in Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, and others. The fellowship covers tuition fees, housing, a monthly allowance and health insurance. The application deadlines are 15 January (fall semester) and 17 October (spring semester). The Graduate Institute Geneva (Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies) offers Masters and PhD programs that address global, international, and transnational challenges facing the contemporary world. Its centers include the Centre for International Environmental Studies, among others.
