Grants are to nonprofit charitable organizations in the USA, and to nonprofit organizations outside the USA that have equivalent charitable status.

Most grants are in the range of US$30 thousand to US$500 thousand, although several grants are larger.

APPLICATION: Hewlett requests potential applicants to carefully study the information regarding its programs and priority areas.

Most of Hewlett’s grants are by invitation. However, the Foundation accepts letters of inquiry (LOIs) in certain programs -- including Energy and Climate. LOIs can be submitted at any time.

If Hewlett is interested in the LOI, it will invite the applicant to submit a full proposal.
