The EcoLogic Development Fund works to strengthen local communities for environmental management and sustainable livelihoods in Central America and Mexico.

The Fund supports local projects in watershed management, forest and environmental conservation, and sustainable livelihoods.

Grant Programs for Agriculture, Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources

Community Conservation and Sustainable Livelihoods. The Fund has the following priorities:
  • Management of water resources;
  • Forest conservation;
  • Carbon financing to offset forest loss and degradation;
  • Payments for ecosystem services; and
  • Sustainable livelihoods.
EcoLogic works with selected local organizations in long-term partnerships. Most partners are NGOs and community-based organizations in countries where EcoLogic is active.

APPLICATION:   EcoLogic uses its Advisory Committee to identify and approve the projects which receive financial support from the Fund.

EcoLogic posts annual reports. In 2010, the Fund’s expenditures for program services (excluding expenses for fund raising and management) were US$1.4 million.
