The Coca-Cola Company declares its commitment to help support the communities where it works around the world. The Coca-Cola Foundation is the company's global international philanthropic arm.

In addition to its primary Foundation in Atlanta (USA), Coca-Cola also works through regional and country foundations in Latin America, Africa, Europe, North America, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Among the Foundation’s priority areas for global grant making, the two of main relevance in the Terra Viva Grants Directory are “Water Stewardship” and “Community Recycling.”

Coca-Cola’s regional and country foundations share in these global priorities and add others -- mainly in areas of education, health, and environment.

Grant Programs for Agriculture, Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources

1 -- Water Stewardship. The Foundation makes grants in support of access to clean water and sanitation; watershed management in water-stressed areas; multiple-use systems for water; and education and awareness in water conservation.

2 -- Community Recycling. Grants are for efforts to prevent littering; materials recovery and re-use; increased community awareness of recycling; and research and innovation in recycling.

The Foundation makes grants to tax-exempt nonprofit charitable organizations in the USA, and to organizations that have equivalent status in other countries.

There are no limits on the size of grant requests in the Foundation’s application form. Most grants range from US$20 thousand to multi-million dollars.

APPLICATION:   The Coca-Cola Foundation uses an online application system. Applications can be submitted at any time. Applicants are asked several questions in an “eligibility quiz” before they are able to apply.

Grant seekers apply for cash grants or fund-raising sponsorships. These are separate types of applications.

The request for a cash grant includes the applicant’s contact information and organizational background; focus area of the request; goals, purpose, and current status of the applicant’s program or project; details of the budget; and plan for monitoring the grant’s impact.

The Foundation posts frequently asked questions (FAQ) for grant seekers.
