The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs funds the MENA Scholarship Program to enable mid-career professionals in the MENA region to participate in short courses in the Netherlands. The courses must relate directly to the individual's professional specialization in fields that include water management; agriculture, forestry, and fisheries; and others. About 120 scholarships are awarded annually. Eligible countries are Algeria, Iraq, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Syria (currently suspended), and Tunisia.
