OSSREA intends to publish a book on environmental degradation and the decline of natural resources and biodiversity in the coastal areas of the Western Indian Ocean. It offers US$5 thousand to authors who address OSSREA's priority topics in any one of the relevant coastal states (Kenya, Mozambique, Somalia, South Africa, and Tanzania) and island states (Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Reunion, and Seychelles). Applicants should be nationals of Eastern and Southern Africa, and should be affiliated with institutions based in Eastern and Southern Africa. The deadline for submitting abstracts is 15 March 2012.
